What is Remote Cast and Control?
Remote Cast and Control feature allows the admin/ group admin to remotely view and control the device’s screen in real time. This gives the admin, remote access to the registered devices and troubleshoot any issues with the devices which are on the field used by agents or are as standalone kiosks.
How to use Remote Cast and Control?
The MobiLock Pro account owner needs to send a request for Remote Cast and Control access from the dashboard. Once we receive the request, we enable the Remote Cast and Control feature on your account. The account owner is informed with an email on the registered email-ID. At present, the Remote Cast and Control feature on MobiLock Pro is available only on Samsung and selected Sony & Lenovo devices.
Note: This document guides you on how to setup and access Remote Cast and Control on Samsung and Sony Devices with Sony SDK. For Lenovo devices please refer to Remote Cast and Control using the WingMan app
What are the applications that are needed for Remote Control?
The feature of Control requires a minimum of MobiLock Pro v3.0.0 and Remote Cast v2.0.11.
To access Remote Cast and Control on the dashboard, please sign into your MobiLock Pro account.
To access Remote Cast and Control feature, you need to request access from the dashboard.
Click on the Remote Cast & Control tab on the sidebar on your left.
Now, click on REQUEST ACCESS option, as shown in the image.
You will see a popup, please fill in the details and click on the SUBMIT REQUEST option.
Now refresh your page, you will see the page similar to the image shown below.
After scrolling down the page, you will see all the devices, as shown below.
Note: The ticks under the Remote Control column indicate the devices that support Remote Control and the cross indicate that the devices supports only Remote Cast.

To access Remote Control feature on your Samsung, Sony devices you need to publish Remote Cast app from the Enterprise Store.
The support for Remote Control has been added from the v2.0.11 of Remote Cast app.If you are using this feature for the first time or using an older version of application on the device, then please follow the steps below to publish the updated version.
Click on Enterprise Store→ My Apps, you will see the Remote Cast app as a part of Add-on apps in your Enterprise Store.
Click on the PUBLISH option under the Remote Cast app and then on the Publish APK option on the window that appears on the right side, as shown in the image below.
Please select your prefered choice and then click on PUBLISH, as shown in the image below. You can publish the Remote Cast app on the Device(s), Device profile(s) or Device group(s).
You have successfully published Remote Cast app on the devices!
Step 4: The Remote Cast app will be silently installed on the device.
For Remote Control to work on supported devices, MobiLock Pro app needs to be updated to a minimum of v3.0.0.
If you are using an older version of MobiLock Pro, please update the application. The steps are similar to how you updated Remote Cast app, except that you need to select and publish MobiLock Pro from the Add-On app section.
You need to launch Remote Cast app manually on device as it needs certain permissions to function.
Step 1: Launch the Remote Cast app that was installed on your device.
Step 2: Now on the next screen, click on the GRANT PERMISSION option.
Step 3: Click on the toggle option to enable the option, as shown in the image
Step 4: If all the permissions have been granted properly then the following screen is displayed.
Go back to the dashboard, click on the tab on the left sidebar. Now, you will see a list of devices that have Remote Cast app installed.
Click on Start Session option next to the device you want to start a Screen Sharing session with.
You are navigated to a page which shows an image with the message Waiting to start the session. Please click on the to start the session.
Pro Tip - You can also see other device details
Android Security measures enforce that the end-user has to accept a Remote session on the device. On the device the following screen would be displayed, please instruct your employee to click OKAY.
Now instruct your employee to Click on the START NOW option, as shown in the image below.
Pro Tip - Please ask your employee to select “Don’t ask again” , this would mean that you can take remote sessions without employee interaction.
Pro Tip - If you are setting up a fresh device, we would recommend doing this step before handing off the devices to your field-force.
In case, the user has declined the remote sharing session you can click on the Ask again option on the right side.
Note: If the user had Declined the Remote Cast session and selected the “Don’t ask again” option, then the device needs to be restarted once, for Remote sessions to work.
If the steps from 1 to 4 are completed properly, then the screen that is currently running on the device will be shown on the dashboard.
Now you can control the device remotely as if you would use a device physically. You can click on the Key panel as shown below to perform navigation or to lock the device.
Note: To control the rest of the screen, you can click on the screen and you would see the images getting updated. The images below show opening the Gallery app as an example.
To end the session, you can click on the STOP SESSION option on the dashboard or the STOP BUTTON on the device, as shown in Image 1 and Image 2.
Note: You cannot access the STOP button of the device from the virtual image on the dashboard.
The Screen Sharing session has successfully ended.
